Online Services Available
As the situation around the COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to evolve, Sweet Pea Therapy is now offering virtual assessments and interventions by FaceTime, Zoom or by telephone. I appreciate that everyone is social distancing and we are here to help. There are areas that can be assessed and then offer practical recommendations through online services.
Many families are at home with their children, so this is a great opportunity to offer activities which will encourage food exploration and expand food choices for the picky eater. This is also a great time to introduce solids. There are many sensory play activities that support food expansion.

What clients say

  • We had our appointment together with you and my son in the Fall and I want to thank you! He is doing well. We have made  progress  and what had the biggest impact was actually some of your simplest advice you gave us, which was to stop worrying about getting him to eat all the time. I even started saying no to eating at  inappropriate times and stopped shoving food at him constantly like a maniac and guess what? He comes home now asking for snacks and supper and since I’ve relaxed a bit he has doubled his intake in the evening. I cannot tell you how that has made everything more pleasant around here. He IS eating more daily and he has even tried a few things he would never have even looked at. You should have seen my jaw drop when he asked for spaghetti sauce ON his noodles one day. He tried and said he preferred no sauce but HE ATE it!!

  • When things aren’t working quite right, there can be so much emotion around feeding your child – after all isn’t it supposed to be natural? I came to Carrie postpartum, after having seen two lactation consultants in hospital feeling confused. Carrie instantly put me at ease. She actively listened when explained I would like to breast feed but the pain was unbearable. We came up with a plan that worked for my baby and myself. It took into account my desire to give her my milk but also making it an enjoyable experience for us both.

What I appreciated most about working with Carrie was her gentle approach and vast knowledge in the area of feeding. This was this second time I worked with Carrie the first because my son refused to eat anything. She is well connected to the latest approaches and medical professionals, which was a comfort to my husband and I. You can have confidence that Carrie will provide you with effective solutions to your feeding challenges and work with you and your child for the best outcomes for all. When issues come up she takes them in stride and adjusts the plan – having her calming influence is invaluable.
