The research shows us that foods that are considered high risk for allergies should be introduced within the first year. We use to wait between 1-2 years before introducing peanut butter. It is a thick substance and can, as we all have experienced, stick to the roof of your mouth. Once they are functional practiced eaters, a scoop of peanut butter is a good source of protein and calories. Peanut butter can be spread on celery and bananas and toast.
Meats are recommended now as a first food as iron rich foods such as infant cereal is a great start.
