We had our appointment together with you and my son in the Fall and I want to thank you! He is doing well. We have made  progress  and what had the biggest impact was actually some of your simplest advice you gave us, which was to stop worrying about getting him to eat all the time. I even started saying no to eating at  inappropriate times and stopped shoving food at him constantly like a maniac and guess what? He comes home now asking for snacks and supper and since I’ve relaxed a bit he has doubled his intake in the evening. I cannot tell you how that has made everything more pleasant around here. He IS eating more daily and he has even tried a few things he would never have even looked at. You should have seen my jaw drop when he asked for spaghetti sauce ON his noodles one day. He tried and said he preferred no sauce but HE ATE it!!

I’m so unbelievably impressed with the progress Jack has been making. I’ve been introducing new foods at snack time with excellent results, lots of licks, kisses and the occasional bite now and then. I’ve also noticed Jack is more willing to engage with his food, something he never did before…such as holding the actual banana while biting it…he had NEVER done this before! There are lots of ways I see him improving in just a week after all of your helpful suggestions, and I can’t wait to see how he does in the future…many thanks! I’ll be in touch!

Carrie Owen became my “go-to” lactation consultant when my first child was born.

As a new mom I was overwhelmed by the novelty of breastfeeding. Carrie brought a sense of calm to my world and helped me to gain confidence and self-control with breastfeeding.

Carrie respects your individual circumstances. She customizes her care taking into account every aspect of your family life. Carrie is warm, unassuming and comforting . Her endless optimism and enthusiasm helped enormously and she never failed to make me laugh, no matter how exhausted or frustrated I was.

Carrie helped me with my second child and guided me through the transition to purees and solid foods. She provided me top-notch care and sanity when I needed it most.

I would like to thank Carrie for her evaluation of an infant born with cleft palate/P.R.S last week. I found her evaluation of this infant’s oral motor skills quite educational. In my 18years with the Cleft lip/palate Team, the O.T. assessment of these infants has been invaluable. Our Team relies heavily on Carrie’s high level of training, and evidence based and professional approach.

When things aren’t working quite right, there can be so much emotion around feeding your child – after all isn’t it supposed to be natural? I came to Carrie postpartum, after having seen two lactation consultants in hospital feeling confused. Carrie instantly put me at ease. She actively listened when explained I would like to breast feed but the pain was unbearable. We came up with a plan that worked for my baby and myself. It took into account my desire to give her my milk but also making it an enjoyable experience for us both.

What I appreciated most about working with Carrie was her gentle approach and vast knowledge in the area of feeding. This was this second time I worked with Carrie the first because my son refused to eat anything. She is well connected to the latest approaches and medical professionals, which was a comfort to my husband and I. You can have confidence that Carrie will provide you with effective solutions to your feeding challenges and work with you and your child for the best outcomes for all. When issues come up she takes them in stride and adjusts the plan – having her calming influence is invaluable.
